Position Summary
The Manager of Organic Social Media role is a people management position on 829’s Public Relations team. This role will report directly to the Associate Director of Public Relations, and specifically lead/steer the social media and influencer marketing team and its client roster. In partnership with various cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for how 829 Studios approaches influencer marketing and social media platforms, including all internal/external processes. In addition, this role will oversee and manage a team of social strategists and specialists, support new business development and nurture relationships with key clients.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about the role social media plays in the marketing world and possess strong leadership skills. This person should also be obsessed with all things pop culture and be the first to know about the latest industry news and trends. The ability to manage a team, oversee accounts, reach department milestones, create top notch strategy/toolkits, and communicate data and analytics is also essential.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead the organic social and influencer team on all internal and client initiatives.
- Keep up to date on the best practices of the main social media channels, which content and approaches work on each and why.
- Build digital media campaigns in social platforms-experienced in leveraging Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Tiktok, Blogs.
- Collaborate across all marketing teams to develop effective content marketing strategies, delivering fresh content ideas that meet the client’s business objectives.
- Develop content marketing strategy plans, content calendars, and process documents for assigned clients.
- Create and craft content ideas and target audience persona insights backed by research.
- Manage complex moving parts to orchestrate the implementation of content marketing strategy and plans.
- Conduct performance reporting, insight gathering, and optimization recommendations will be required on an ongoing basis (experience with Google Analytics a must).
- Contribute ideas, create content, and help plan initiatives.
- Create valuable, original, relatable, timely, insightful, and memorable pieces of owned content in the following formats – longform, short form (social media posts, email, text, phone, reviews, user generated content), and visual (photography, animated GIFs, memes, video, infographics).
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience developing content strategies and media campaigns as well as creating content on social platforms
- 2+ years of agency or digital marketing experience is preferred
- Proven experience in planning and managing social media and influencer campaigns and longer-term strategies
- Experience managing or leading a team of direct reports
- Strategic marketing mindset that seeks to understand what audiences consume and how to create the best quality version of it
- Experience setting up and maintaining social channels and familiarity with native platform reporting
- Maintains excellent writing and language skills
- Expertise with social listening, scheduling and community management tools, e.g. Buffer, BrandWatch, Pulsar, Sprout, etc.
- Ability to deliver creative content ideas
- Ability to grasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively
- Understanding of paid social media and targeting, social analytics and reporting. SEO knowledge and basic understanding of website software is a plus
- Ability to analyze and present content and social performance
- Experience with Google Analytics required, experience with Adobe Suite and audio/video editing tools is a plus
- Ability to work within a fast-paced environment, meet client deadlines, and experience with a project management system
